We source Chardonnay from our own vineyards and other vineyard sites where the ocean influence gives grapes long hangtime on the vine to develop light tropical fruit and floral characters. J Chardonnay, Jewell Ranch Vineyard

Jewell Ranch Vineyard is a newly planted, 7-acre Green Valley property adjacent to an organic heirloom apple orchard. Green Valley is an exceptionally cool sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley situated in the southwest corner of the larger Russian River Valley AVA. The Jewel Vineyard is located on a rolling ridgetop just off Highway 116 on Mill Station Road near the community of Graton.

This Chardonnay is a blend of fruit from throughout our Russian River Valley vineyards. A sensual, creamy palate supports a complex mix of papaya, jasmine, and lemon-lime citrus characters over the long finish.

Burgundian in style, our STRATA Chardonnay is all about mineral characteristics. This wine is an excellent representation of the stratified Goldridge sandstone soil.

The grapes for the J Vineyards “Barrel 16” Chardonnay are from four premium vineyards sites within the Russian River Valley appellation. These sites represent the versatility and range of microclimates found in this unique viticultural area. The four sites range from the very cool southwestern corner of the appellation nearSebastopol to the warmer zones south of Healdsburg.
